Brookings-Harbor High School Class of 1976

50th Class Reunion - Summer 2026

Four months and counting …

Spring is officially here so that means summer and our reunion on the weekend of July 24-26 is getting nearer. I’ve heard back from a number of classmates so far and am still trolling for more. Check out the list in the previous post to see who I have and who I’m missing.

If you know contact information for anyone on the missing list, send them to this page or drop me an email at [email protected].

As for the reunion itself, here are the tentative plans for the weekend:

Friday, July 24
7-ish p.m. Meet at a local watering hole TBA

Saturday, July 25
10:30 a.m. Tour the high school Brookings-Harbor High

3 p.m. Class of 1976 Reunion Chetco Historical Museum
15461 Museum Road, Harbor, OR

We’re still working out a lot of the details. Since there’s no Green Door or Pine Cone Tavern anymore, we’re scouting for a local establishment that we can take over on Friday and perhaps enjoy some adult beverages.

For Saturday morning, I’ve got a trusted contact that can get us into the high school for a tour. You get bonus points if you remember your locker number and combination.

The main event is Saturday afternoon at the Chetco Historical Museum just south of town. Fortunately, our classmate Mark Matson is the president of the museum and it is a fitting place for relics like us. Actually, there are some great items on display there and it has both indoor and outdoor locations we can use. No adult beverages there, but we’ll put together some refreshments should you get parched from talking.

In the spirit of simplicity, there’s nothing planned for Sunday, However, we’re sure there may be some informal gatherings that happen then. And I’m open to any ideas, as long as I don’t have to do much, because I’m old, you know.

While July is the reunion date, there will be a few of us in town at the end of May for Azalea Festival. On Saturday afternoon, there is an annual gathering of folks from BHHS classes 1970-79 at Azalea Park. I’ve been able to reconnect with a number of folks at this gathering and I encourage you to come by if in town.

July will be here before we know it. So keep spreading the word on the reunion!
